As most of you know SA Fashion week came to a close on Saturday, I’m a little disappointed that I couldn’t be there myself, but had a lot of fun reading the newsletters and following the action on Twitter and Youtube.
One of my all time favorite designers Isabel de Villiers rocked the runway with her signature flowy styles, I was a little confused with what looked like bubble wrap visors, but other than that I loved the collection, bold and muted colors blend together seamlessly and the fact that Isabel focuses on making woman of all shapes and sizes feel gorgeous and comfortable makes it all the more appealing, she prides herself in “emphasizing feminity with clean lines and flattering silhouettes” and this is one of the major reasons I have been a fan since I discovered her website in early 2015. I’ll post some of the designs as well as a clip of her models strutting their stuff below. (Thanks to Isabel for clearing up some of my confusion re the eye masks 🙂 Her SS16 collection was inspired by Braille – The idea is to explore the 7th sense, feeling instead of seeing, which I love 🙂 an awesome concept for awesome designs.)
Now that the major event is over members of the public can view the garments for FREE! Yup there will be a 2-day trade event – April 12-13 where you can meet designers, get a first-hand look at their designs and even buy them before they hit stores 🙂 So get ready for designer handbags, killer accessories and fashion as far as the eye can see.
The open day will be held at Hyde Park Corner Shopping Centre at the Centre Court in Sandton. For more info you can visit their website.
