Winter typically means dry and itchy skin, but if you’re extra careful it doesn’t have to ๐Ÿ™‚ There are small inexpensive things you can do that will leave your skin feeling baby soft and glowing ๐Ÿ™‚ So for today’s post I decided to put together 5 of my favorite steps to healthy, baby-soft skin.

1. Wash Your Face.

After a day of being alive and living one’s face does tend to get some dirt and germs on it ๐Ÿ˜› so it’s extremely important to wash your face properly, once in the morning and once before bed is recommended. Using a good face wash or cleanser is a great way to do this, it’s a much better alternative to dehydrating soap bars and if you choose one that doesn’t contain sodium lauryl sulphate you’re sure to have the perfect canvas for your moisturizer.

2. Moisturise, Moisturise, MOISTURISE!

Moisturizing is something you definitely shouldn’t ever skip, select a moisturizer that’s perfectly suited to your skin, if you have dry skin you should go for a deep moisturizing rescue moisturizer and the same goes for sensitive and oily skin. If you feel like your moisturizer isn’t as effective as it used to be, try switching it up a bit ๐Ÿ™‚ your skin might have gotten used to that particular brand ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Sunblock.

It might be winter but it’s still a good idea to wear sunblock, UV rays can be very harmful to your skin, as a rule, I always wear a moisturizer with at least an SPF15 (organic if possible). If you don’t have any sunblock around organic coconut oil will do the trick as well – It protects and keeps your skin moisturized without any harsh chemicals.

4. Exfoliate your skin.

When it comes to exfoliating I almost always prefer going the natural route, mostย cosmetic exfoliates contain small abrasive beads that could be harmful to the environment, so not only are you doing yourself a favour by using something natural, but you are helping mother nature as well ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s a great recipe I use all the time:

Mix two tablespoons of raw honey with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar in a small bowl, add the juice of half a lemon, mix well and rub on to your skin using your hands or an exfoliating brush, leave it on for a few minutes and rinse with warm water – pat dry, you can use this over your entire body, yup even your face ๐Ÿ™‚

5. Use homemade Face Masks.

Diy/homemade face maks is a great way to keep your skin skin baby soft, you can use natural moisturizing ingredients like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, yogurt, honey or bananas. These ingredients all have amazing benefits for your skin and leaves you glowing, just mush some together in a bowl, apply and relax for 15 minutes ๐Ÿ™‚ rinse with warm water – pat dry.
