There are a few things in life that you can always count on. One of them is the fact that you have to battle unwanted hair by shaving or waxing, or do you? Well, not really. There are technologies and techniques that can cut your shaving and waxing time way down. One of them is laser hair removal.
How Lasers Offer Better Treatment for Unwanted Hair
Laser machines offer better treatment for unwanted hair in a couple of ways. One is that they don’t just target the hair that is visible to the naked eye. You see, your hair has roots, just like plants do. They’re called follicles. The hairs grow from the follicles, and a certain amount of hair grows below the surface of your skin before it pokes through. While razors can essentially mow the visible hair down like you would mow your lawn, laser devices get right down to the roots, keeping the hair from growing back as fast as it would after you shave, or even wax.
Another thing that makes laser treatment extra good for pesky embarrassing body hair is that the lasers are capable of targeting each hair in a given area. If you have ever shaved or waxed and then realized later that you missed several hairs, you can certainly appreciate that accuracy.
There Are Variations Between the Various Laser Treatments
Of course, you do need to understand that laser and ipl hair removal equipment varies quite a bit. IPL (intense pulsed light) doesn’t use focused beams that produce large amounts of heat. So, that might be a better treatment if you have conditions that can be aggravated by heat, such as acne or oily skin.
As for laser devices themselves, they vary too. Some of them are specially calibrated to treat people with light skin and dark hair. Lasers that are capable of removing unwanted hair that is lightly colored against the background of darker skin are sometimes harder to find. But they do exist. So, if you are one of those people, you shouldn’t completely avoid the idea of laser treatment. It just might be a bit more of an undertaking to find the right facility that can get rid of that unwanted hair for you.
Does the Hair Really Go Away Forever?
The short answer is that not all of the hair will go away forever. But the point is that it will stay away for longer periods of time. The hair that does grow back should also be lighter and thinner, making it stand out less. So, you may still want to wax or shave from time to time. Even so, you’ll find yourself spending a lot less time doing either one.
Considering all of the time, money, and aggravation you can save by undergoing laser hair removal, it’s easy to see why so many people do it. However, that doesn’t make it the perfect choice for everyone. If you think it might be the good one for you, take some time to investigate clinics in your area that offer the service. Then you should be able to find one that can accommodate your budget, schedule, and hair removal needs.
