I am so excited to be back home, I missed my blog so much it actually feels like I’m suffering from withdrawals 😛 Buuuut, I must say it was probably one of the best vacations I have ever had 🙂 Why? Well it’s the first vacation our small family has taken together 🙂 My husband, myself and his son Damian 🙂 🙂

On Wednesday we arrived at King Shaka Airport in Durban excited and ready for our vacation 🙂 As expected Durban was of course sweltering hot and we couldn’t wait to cool off 🙂 Since our accommodation was 180km away we decided to make our way to Ushaka Marine World, which was only 30 mins away, luckily our little Chevy Spark rental had air-conditioning 🙂 🙂 Once we got to Ushaka Marine World we couldn’t wait to get inside, I had been there before but it had changed so much that we walked around for quite some time trying to make our way to the aquarium and water park, I also stopped to buy myself a pair of cheap sunglasses from one of the many shops around the center 🙂 Since we were only planning on taking a quick dip to cool off we nearly had a heart attack when we got to the gate – R600.00 entrance for the three of us, lol so as quickly as we thought of the idea, we thought of something else, since we were right on the Durban Promenade we decided to rent a bodyboard for Damian while my husband and I had a lovely drink at Moyo Restaurant 🙂

Kwa-Zulu Natal is a beautiful place, Durban itself seemed very dilapidated and broken down, but the beaches were beautiful and clean, so if you can get pass bumper to bumper traffic and dodgy broken buildings Durban is a great holiday destination. Us on the other hand prefer something a bit more private and secluded 🙂 Which is why we chose Uvongo beach right before the silly season started 🙂

Late that afternoon we finally arrived at Laguna La Crete, right in front of Uvongo beach 🙂 Then it hit us, 180° degrees of clear ocean view, a cute little flat on the 1st floor, holiday-makers sun-bathing on the beach and tons of people swimming in the ocean 🙂 At home we might be close to the beach, but our cold Atlantic ocean really knew how to take the fun out of swimming 🙂 🙂 and by now it was pretty much clear, we were on VACATION 😀 😀 😀

The next few days passed in a blur, we had some rainy weather but it never got very cold, we also had lunch in Margate, drove to Port Edward to visit the Wild Waves Waterpark (after David won us some tickets on the beach 🙂 , swam in the ocean and had early nights in watching movies 🙂 🙂

It was such a peaceful welcoming experience 🙂 Except for the traffic everything was pretty much perfect 🙂 Time passed way too quickly, the days seemed too short and soon we were back at the airport ready to go home 🙂 Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer, since we knew it was going to be a long time before we see Uvongo again.

**Here’s to saving for our next awesome family vacation 😀 😀 **

Thought I would share some pics 🙂 🙂

Here are some of my favorite clothing pieces from our holiday 🙂 I love layering when we’re traveling, if it’s gets too hot, just take something off 🙂 and if it gets too cold, put it back on 😛 🙂 these were all purchases from Donna Claire, I just love their clothing, great quality fabric, comfy fit for us curvy girls AND lay-buy options for those of us who prefer buying cash but need to save up a bit first 🙂 🙂
